Today, Supreme Court of India on hearing petition filed against constitutional validity of Aadhar Act 2016. Five judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra had said that it may not be possible to decide by 31 March petitions filed against Aadhar. Supreme court also said,"The Government cannot insist for mandatory Aadhar even for issuance of Tatkal Passports." On 15 December last year Apex Court extended Aadhar linking deadline from 31 December to 31 March. Now, it will be interesting to see how much time Supreme Court will take to make final decision on Aadhar. While, The Government is imposing linking Aadhar with every service, be it a LPG connection, or PAN card. What difference does extending deadline only for Bank Accounts and Mobile Number?, if constitutional validity of Aadhar is questioned.
